CAE Development engineer

Your tasks

  • Development of chassis parts for passenger car- and commercial vehicle applications
  • Performing numerical calculation and simulation analysis by using CAE technologies
  • Setting up calculation/simulation models together with adapted boundary conditions
  • Conducting static and dynamic as well as linear and nonlinear FEA analysis
  • Conducting Fatigue lifetime estimations
  • Making Design proposals, modifications, improvements based on calculation/simulation results
    • Development of Material Models applied in numerical calculation and simulation anlysis
    • Development of Model Parameter Identification methods to fill material models/FEA
    • Maintenance and development of Material Database
    • Leading internal and external Material Characterization, e.g. LCF-, HCF- and TMF testing
  • Development and improvement of Fatigue lifetime estimation methods
  • Evaluation, interpretation and documentation of calculation/simulation results versus testing results
  • Establishing strategical partnerships with research partners and institutes
  • Close collaboration as expert with internal teams/divisions, suppliers and customers
  • Representing THK in the field of Mechanics and Fatigue at conferences, symposiums, etc.

Your profile

  • University degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering or comparable
  • Detailed knowledge of Continuum Mechanics, Damage Mechanics and Fatigue is appreciated
  • Solid knowledge and long-term experience of FEA is appreciated
  • Solid knowledge of Material Science is appreciated
  • Experience of CAE tools like Abaqus, Ansa, Meta, Femfat, fe-Safe is beneficial
  • Experience in the Automotive sector is beneficial
  • Structured and independent working skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Autonomous self-motivated personality
  • Excellent English skills, both written and spoken; German skills are beneficial
  • Being flexible together with teamwork thinking
  • Willingness to travel within CZ and abroad
